God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4Īll praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.įor the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17įor since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 1 Thessalonians 4:13īrothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory, receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials, that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ – whom, not having known, you love. ![]() 1 Peter 1:3-9īlessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. And we who are living will also be transformed. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. ![]() What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 15:22įor as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But now faith, hope, and love remain – these three. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. ![]() Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. For we know in part and we prophesy in part but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. ![]() But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
